It's a cold and blustery day. The school I was supposed to work at today closed so with my unplanned day off, I decided to finally get back to painting. With a show coming up March 9, I'm trying to get some more "Spring-y" mini art together to sell. I already painted one dragonfly ornament (see below) and had so much fun, I had to make another Pat Catan's run (possibly my last one ever) and pick up some more. I started working on a couple today. My question for you is: should they be wall ornaments or should I attach a rod so they can be put in potted plants?

At last, I got around to framing one of my newest pieces, Tiger 5. It's an original acrylic portrait of a tiger on 9x12 canvas panel. A celebration of color, this painting belongs to a series I've been working on featuring endangered species. Being my favorite animal, several of the paintings are of tigers which also translate well with this style of painting. I hope to have it in some upcoming exhibitions so stay tuned and let me know what you think. Have a great day!

Saturday, I scooted on down to Sharon for Art's Alive at Mardi Gras. It was the tenth year for this event and it was held at The Corinthian in Sharon. There was New Orleans-style food and drinks, live music, and (of course) we artists were set up in the banquet hall. Fortunately, the weather was great and there was a pretty decent turnout. Sales weren't as high as I hoped and I was a little under the weather, but I got to see some of my artist friends and it was still a good time!
On my way to Sharon, I took a little pit stop in Hermitage to pay my respects to one of my favorite stores that I heard was being closed. I stocked up on supplies, but am still crying a little inside. R.I.P. Pat Catan's!
A view of the festivities before we opened.
I hid another rock. Hopefully, it has some good adventures!
My next stop is the Badger Fine and Performing Arts spring craft show in Kinsman, Ohio on March 9. I've heard great things about this one and can't wait to see for myself. I hope you can make it!

I spent most of my Saturday at Collegiate Academy's 2nd annual Cabin Fever Reliever. After being stuck in the house for several days during the polar vortex, it was great to finally get out. It was my first show of 2019 and I got to show off some of my new things including my wood slice ornaments. It was also a chance to tweak my display yet again. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and the organizers for all their hard work. My next stop is Art's Alive at Mardi Gras at The Corinthian in Sharon on Saturday from 4-10 PM. I hope to see you there!
