Today, I'm trying to cross another thing off my to-do list and that is to finally do this block printing project I've had in mind for a while. It features the "Don't Give Up the Ship" quote, a phrase that resonates more and more as I try and make my way forward in the art world. I haven't had as much success as I would like selling my prints, but I think I'll carve my last few blocks and give it another try.

Sunday in the Park is an event put on by the Corry Arts Council. There are vendors and activities for the kids as well as a judged art show. Some of us from the Corry Artists' Guild entered some of our work. I entered a painting and this photo of an old blonde violin that was made by one of my relatives. It belonged to my grandfather at one point, I think, so I titled it "Grandpa's Violin" and it won first place in the Adult Photography division.
This juried exhibition took place in Meadville, Pennsylania and was hosted by the Meadville Council on the Arts. Juror Gary Cardot selected entries from artists all residing within 200 miles of the city including this one by yours truly.
I've never entered this show before so it was an honor to have one of my entires selected. It's not the first time I've had a photograph in an exhibition, but it was the first time taking part in one that was photography only. Hopefully, this means I'm on to something and there are great things to come.
